IOTA is an IT R&D company in Turkey. Its areas of interest include software development in ERP and CRM, e-learning, university information systems, electronic payment and electronic access control systems, R&D in ICT, R&D management, technology transfer, and training in ICT. As an R&D company it has well established links with researchers at Turkish universities. It has a small but dynamic team experienced in the areas listed above. Prof. Selahattin Kuru, founder of IOTA (also the co-coordinator of TOSSAD with managerial issues) is currently involved in the following European Commission supported projects: MIPS – Mediterranean Innovation Policy Support, TrainIT: Training IT in South East Europe, MEDFORIST: Euro-Mediterranean Network for Sharing IST Learning Resources, and ISIS: Information Society Initiative for South East Europe.

IOTA will contribute the project mainly in two areas, project management and coordination on managerial aspects and F/OSS curriculum development. Other activities to be involved are F/OSS study, F/OSS national programmes, F/OSS research coordination activities and diseemination and exploitation.

IOTA considers TOSSAD as a very influential tool for it to establish contacts with other key players in F/OSS area and gain visibility in the F/OSS community. IOTA believes that TOSSAD give IOTA an leading edge in this area in Turkey.
